Nicotinic \Nic`o*tin"ic\, a. (Chem.)
   Pertaining to, or derived from, nicotine; nicotic; -- used
   specifically to designate an acid related to pyridine,
   obtained by the oxidation of nicotine, and called nicotinic
   acid.
